Israel at War

As a Canadian living in Israel, I feel that it's apropos for me to comment a little on what's currently happening.

Hezbolla, a known terrorist organisation and cabinet member of the Lebanese governement, crossed into sovereign Israeli terrority and kidnapped two soldiers, killing eight.

Israel, in response, sent a tank in pursuit of the captors into Lebanan. Afterward, Hezbolla fired literally hundreds of rockets into heavily populated Israeli cities. Hundreds of rockets continue to assult Israel every day and there have been more than 1000 fired to date, forcing close to one million Israelis to spend their entire days and nights in sweltering bomb shelters with their children.

What would you expect your government to do if hundreds of rockets were threatenting you and your nation daily? Fire hundreds back daily in "proportion" and wait until the instagators get bored?

Hezbolla deliberately targets innocent civilans trying to kill as many people as possible. Israel drops leaflets informing people of upcoming strikes, in order not to kill civilians and to give them time to leave areas which have been hotbeds of rocket fire.

Hezbolla hides amongst the Lebanese people, launching rockets next to city homes and hiding launchers under beds. As a result, Israel has the dilemma of destroying the terrorist infrastructure or allowing the continued terror and onslaught of its people in passive deference to "human rights."

Hezbolla seeks maximum death and destruction. Israel's aim is to paralyze Hizbolla's war effort; in the bombing of the Beirut airport the runways were destroyed to prevent arms shipments, but the rader contol towers were not. Similarly, Lebanese army posts have not been targeted, as the Lebanese army has not been involved.

Finally, it is difficult to reconcile human compassion with the tragedies and destruction of war, and Israel has been criticized in the media for its "disproportionate" retaliation. It is worth reminding that there have been more than 1000 rockets launched into Israeli cities and towns and that they have not killed more people or destroyed more infrastructure is only thanks to G-d. Proportionality is to be measured by action, not results. Furthermore, Israel is not fighting a tit-for-tat game against stubborn neighbors but a two-front, unprovoked war for its very survival. The Middle East is not North America or the European Union, I've learned being here.

Am really sorry if this is what you really think or is what the media deliver out there....not saying that what is happening in lebanon and haifa is right but ...1000 rocket is a very humble number comparing to the israeli history of rockets exploded on civilians ..........

Israel doesn't target civilians and takes measures to prevent innocent death - more than any other country in the world and throughout history. Hezbolla and Palestinian terrorists seek maximum civilian death. See the pictures and you may understand why unfortunately some children are victims.

Is it uglier to see pictures of dead bodies or living children idolize a culture of death?

So naiive...
Hezbollah rockets are nothing compared to the weapons Israel is using to kill (mainly) Lebanese civilians. Just this morning, Israel bombed a building housing Lebanese refugees and killed around 60 people (mainly women & children).

Look at the overall death-toll so far: 438 Lebanese people (367 of whom were civilians) dead, 36 dead Israelis. This is way out of proportion, and that's how Israel always fights.

Zionists really need to get past this nonsense arguing point that this is an un-provoked war; Israel is the only 'country' on earth that is an occupying power - they have occupied and oppressed Palestine since the state of Israel was formed. Israel reacts to a terrorist group by near-annihilation of a stable, democractic country.

You make this look like a war for Israel's 'very survival', rubbish I say - Israel is armed to the teeth and is able to put up a good defense against any aggressor; what it should be doing is to stop destroying Lebanon, stop occupying and oppressing Palestine, deal with terrorists using special forces (which we all know they are capable of!) and stop provoking the region to war.

Not to forget that Israel bombed and killed United Nations observers, who they knew were there. It just happens that the UN is one of the few bodies on earth that dares to criticise what Israel is doing.

I wonder if Israel would bomb the US Embassy if the Bush administration decided to join in the criticism - which of course it WON'T because of the ridiculous influence the Zionist lobby has in the US.

unfortunately Isreal claims this as "Self Defence"

Israel claims it has "the most moral army in the world." and claims that they targeting Hazeb Allah,

today :More than 50 martyrs including 21 children in Israeli raid on Kana building
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/5218210.stm

the most is the environemtal damages:
LEBANON: At least 100 GBU-28 nucleur 'bunker-buster' bombs containing depleted uranium warheads have been delivered to Israel by the US for use against targets in Lebanon. The bombs were delivered via Prestwick airport in Britain. MoreĀ»

This animation depicts a proposed weapon with a one megaton yield. The funding for this weapon was cut in 2005 defense appropriations. However, the United States still has a B61-11 nuclear 'bunker buster' in its arsenal which has a 400 kiloton yield, which could still cause hundreds of thousands of deaths and spread radiation to other countries. dont know why jacob posted this on my tigmsnger
In response to your post on my blog: "Jacob what will you name this culture: http://www.wnd.com/images/20001204_xndku_shooting.jpg" My response is this - http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=18774 It's appropriate you bring this as an example. As is often the case, proofs against the truth usually end up proving the truth themselves - after investigation. Note this is from the same source you sent me. This is a disgusting war, a terrible reality taking place, but it's more important to seek truth through propaganda. Everything I've written is correct, while everything everybody's posted in response has been sensational propaganda and half-truths. You'll decide what to believe and, untimately, it doesn't make any difference because Israel (the people) are in the hands of G-d and it's only a matter of time before this becomes evident.

jacob, in response to your msg, iwont take enough time to prove whats truth n whats fake kindly go back to the link you provided me [http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=18774] if your "defense army" was not guilty for the incident then why this was quoted in the same article: "The Israeli military was quick to apologize for the deaths "

Jacob - inability to distinguish propaganda from news
"Everything I've written is correct, while everything everybody's posted in response has been sensational propaganda and half-truths."

Jacob, you cannot be serious...I looked at the link you provided in Owais' message and it must be some right-wing republican lie machine, pushing such outrageous things as this book "In Mortal Danger: The Battle for America's Border and Security" - again, all words designed to frighten paranoid and less-than-intelligent people into believing that immigrants are going to be the downfall of their great land.

Quote: "Could there be a time in the not-too-distant future when schoolchildren around the world will study about the rise and fall of the United States?"

"English historian Edward Gibbon theorized that Rome fell because it rotted from within. It succumbed to barbarian invasions because of a loss of civic virtue, its citizens became lazy and soft, hiring barbarian mercenaries to defend the empire because they were unwilling to defend it themselves. Congressman Tancredo thinks America is following in the tragic footsteps of Rome."

This is the "news" of paranoid fools and mindless drones. You used an article from this site and could not see that the site is full of "sensational propaganda and half-truths" - or just pure rubbish with the sole purpose of manipulating the weak minds of its followers.

I did not have to investigate the site further, or the article you left as a link, in order to know that nothing on it could be trusted as fact.
